Baseball Tickets In The Al East This Month Are Sure To Get Fans' Blood Boiling

Baseball tickets to AL East games are always interesting, but the gauntlet has been thrown down, and the first team to make a big statement in a tight race has done so this season. The New York Yankees have staked a big-time claim on the division, and it’s going to be tough to catch them barring a monumental collapse.

New York Yankees:

Currently:
The Yankees have just completed the 2006 version of the “Boston Massacre,” having swept the Red Sox in a five game series for the first time in Boston since 1943. This huge sweep caps off a good month for the Yankees, as they went 20-9 over the past 30 days and have taken a strong hold on the division. The offensive formula seems to be Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon getting on base and have Jason Giambi bringing them home. So far, it’s working quite well.

Outlook:
Unless the Yankees stumble seriously, this is now their division to lose.

Boston Red Sox

Currently:
The other side of this equation is the Red Sox, who appear to be settling in for another season of disappointment. They now find themselves 6.5 games back as of this writing, and their record over the past 30 days could be an indication of why they were just swept by their hated rivals - 10-19. Aside from David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez, this appears to be a flawed team, and the Yankees just exposed them.

Outlook:
It’s close to panic button time for the Red Sox, as they need to get on a tear immediately.

Toronto Blue Jays

Currently:
The Blue Jays are quietly having a decent season, but it has to be disappointing to be basically out of the race this early. Their previous 30 days all but slammed the door shut, as they went only 12-16, including a brutal seven-game losing streak. The Blue Jays have some very good players in place, including Troy Glaus and Roy Halladay, so there’s hope for the Blue Jays and baseball tickets sales in the future.

Outlook:
The Blue Jays will be a tough spoiler to deal with the rest of the season, but they’re still a year away.

Baltimore Orioles

Currently:
The Orioles are what they are - a mediocre team that appears to be a long way from challenging for anything of significance. They turned in another not-so-good month, posting a record of 11-15 which included losing seven of eight games to the three teams ahead of them in the division standings. On a positive note, Miguel Tejada is having a great season, and if the Orioles are ever going to rebound, this is a guy that can be a centerpiece.

Outlook:
The team needs players and direction. It has little of either right now, and that’s why they are what they are.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays

Currently:
This just in - the Devil Rays are terrible. They’re doomed to finish another year in their traditional spot - at the bottom of the division standings. Another month, another bad record - the Devil Rays put up a putrid 9-18 record over the past 30 days, and that’s not going to get it done in any division.

Outlook:
The Devil Rays do have a couple of pieces in place with Scott Kazmir and Carl Crawford, but they need many more before they’re ready to compete and start selling baseball tickets with any regularity.
