Basic Knowledge Of Skating – Steps For Beginners

There are two steps to start skateboarding. First, you will need to purchase or rent a reliable skate board and practice riding it. If you don’t know anything about skateboards, the following information will help you become familiar with the sport. It takes dedication and a lot of practice. As a skateboarder, one should become very familiar with riding a board. Whether it’s to a friend’s house, the mall parking lot or your local park, you should get used to riding the board as often as possible.

You need to be comfortable while pushing, standing, stopping, and turning full speed. You will also have to have the proper gear in order to skateboard comfortably. Skateboarding in loose fitting or extremely baggy pants is a safety hazard. Skateboarding with tight clothing such as tight pants can also be a safety hazard as well. It is recommended that a skateboarder dresses in appropriate attire such as shorts and or pants legs that are above the shoes.

It is also important that while skate boarding, its okay to listen to your walkman or iTunes. Make sure that the volume is not too high especially if you are skateboarding in a public place. These are very important skills to develop as a skateboarder.

The Anatomy of the Skateboard

Skateboard Anatomy will let you go through the basic parts of a stakeboard and their purpose. Choosing a skateboard will give you some background on the different types of skateboard setups and how you figure out which one is right for you. Choosing a stance on the hand will let you know if you are not sure which foot you should put in front while riding. More so, how to push properly is like once you start to get good at riding your board you can move on to learn the tricks. Most of these tricks are based on jumping with the skateboard which in itself is called the Ollie. Finally, the Ollie trick includes tricks such as kickflips, heelflips, backside 180s, and front 180s.

How Long Will It Take To Learn Skateboarding?

It doesn’t really matter how long it takes a person to learn how to skateboard like a pro. Everyone will eventually become experts at their own pace. One of the top reasons why a person should learn to skateboard is more than the competition with friend; it’s to simply have fun.
