Keeping Your Kids Healthy - Wellness Tips For Parents

By: Gabriel Adams

If you're a parent, especially a parent of young kids, you are probably very concerned with keeping your kids healthy. Here are a few tips that may help you in giving your kids the gift of wellness.

Tip #1: Eat Low-Glycemic

Having your kids eat low-glycemic is a great first step on the path to wellness. If you are not familiar with low glycemic eating, just do a Google search on it. Glycemic ratings are the latest scientific method of measuring foods' effects on blood sugar levels, energy, weight gain, etc.

Tip #2: Drink lots of water

I know your kids probably like soda pop just as much as the next kid, but it is not health for them. Kids need to drink lots of water. Drinks like soda or Gatorade can never replace drinking lots of water. Even fruit juice can't. Water is an essential building block of health.

Tip #3: Exercise

Many kids don't need an encouragement to exercise - they are always on the go, playing ball, freeze tag, swimming, or whatever activities they enjoy. Other kids, though, may prefer a more sedentary lifestyle, and you may need to encourage them to get more exercise. Unless your child is just plain lazy, you should be able to give them a little encouragement to participate in an activity they enjoy. Exercise is so important for healthy growing!

Tip #4: Supplement

Even with a relatively healthy lifestyle, your kids can benefit from quality nutritional supplements. I would suggest that you give your kids a vitamin / mineral supplement, phytonutrients, and glyconutrients. I have seen excellent marked results with many kids with these three nutrients.

When it comes to raising healthy kids, some knowledge, some common sense, and a lot of patience and love go a long ways! But it's worth it - your kids will reap the benefits (or curses) of their childhood health their whole life long!
